Why Join Rotary?

Are you retired and want to get involved in 'putting something back' into the community? Do you have spare time on your hands and enjoy the company of others?  Do you have skills and experience that you could bring to a friendly club with a range of opportunities and roles?  If so, why not make contact? We always welcome new faces and new ideas for making a difference for our communities in Evesham and The Vale, as well as internationally. With more than 1.2 million men and women in over 200 countries and geographical areas belonging to over 34,000 Rotary Clubs, the potential to leverage overseas project funding is enormous.

Our club prides itself most on finding ways to make a difference in our local community. For example, we run the Tree of Light campaign each Christmas to raise money in support of many local charities. Click on any of the pages in the sidebar to find out more about what we do.

On a wider front, Rotary International builds international understanding through scholarships, exchange programmes and humanitarian grants. It also enables significant aid and development projects around the world. PolioPlus is Rotary's flagship programme. By the time polio is eradicated, which we believe could be very soon, Rotary Club members worldwide will have raised nearly £1 billion and contributed countless volunteer hours to immunise more than 2 billion children in 122 countries. The project began in a local Rotary Club in the Philippines, and Rotary International was the spearheading partner in the Global Polio Education Initiative, along with the World Health Organisation, UNICEF, the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and, more recently, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

See our 'International' page in the side bar to discover how we work with a range of International projects.

Come and have fun while helping in really worthwhile and rewarding work.

We would love to hear from you!
